Dr. David Solá-Del Valle is joining Chittick Eye Care as a board-certified glaucoma and cataract specialist in February of 2024.
Dr. David Solá-Del Valle holds a medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, where he graduated at the top of his class (AOA). He then proceeded to complete his internship and residency in ophthalmology at some of Harvard Medical School’s top hospitals before completing his glaucoma fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in 2016, which is known as the #1 Eye Institute in the United States according to US News & World Report. Upon starting at Bascom Palmer, he received the Heed Fellowship recognizing him among the top ophthalmology residents in the country in 2015.
He also boasts a bachelor's degree from Harvard College magna cum laude with high honors in biochemical sciences. After finishing his rigorous training at some of the best institutions in the country, Dr. Solá-Del Valle has been a premier practicing ophthalmologist in the Boston area for the past 7+ years, and he comes to us after having served as an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, imparting valuable knowledge to residents, fellows, and medical students.
While at Harvard, his clinical research focused on advancing glaucoma laser therapy, microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), incisional glaucoma surgery, and investigating new glaucoma therapies. He has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, and he has lectured on cataract and glaucoma all over the country and the world. Some of his recent lectures through Cybersight reached ophthalmologists from over 100 countries.
Fluent in French, Italian, and Spanish, Dr. Solá-Del Valle also dedicates himself to serving a diverse patient population as a clinician, surgeon, and researcher.
