Dr. Jim Lohrberg
Optometrist Dr. Jim Lohrberg was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska where he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and obtained his Bachelors degree in Life Sciences. He and his wife Lori from Blue Mound, Illinois met in Nebraska where he worked as a chemist in the Food Science Department of UNL. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. After a year of private practice in Quincy he practiced in an Ophthalmology/Optometry practice in Danville for 22 years. He took leave to practice in Springfield for one year and returns to Danville where he and Lori have raised 3 children. Dr. Lohrberg pursued and obtained the designation Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry through the presentation of several case reports and oral examination by a group of distinguished colleagues. Locally Dr. Lohrberg has been honored to serve as President of Danville Sunrise Rotary and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. He has served on the Illiana Alzheimer’s Fund and the Board of the Danville Family YMCA. He enjoys singing in the choir at St. James United Methodist Church. Dr. George Rix
Dr. George Rix grew up outside of the small town of Seneca, Illinois. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Eastern Illinois University in 2010 and then attended the Illinois College of Optometry, graduating in 2014. Dr. Rix joined Chittick Eye Care in 2018 and looks forward to providing comprehensive eye care to the Central Illinois community. He enjoys all aspects of practicing optometry, but has a particular interest in anterior segment disease and fitting multifocal contact lenses. Dr. Rix is a member of Illinois and American Optometric Associations. Dr. Rix now resides in Champaign with his wife, Sarah, and toy fox terrier mix, Tilda. In his spare time, Dr. Rix enjoys reading, seeing movies, playing video games, and small woodturning.
Dr. Ryan Witt
Dr. Ryan Witt is a native of Central Illinois and grew up in Rantoul. He started working with Chittick Family Eye Care during his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois. He returned to join the doctors at Chittick after graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2014. Dr. Witt enjoys all aspects of Optometry including working with difficult to fit contact lenses and diabetic eye care.
Dr. Witt works in a variety of administrative roles within the practice in addition to his patient care responsibilities. He currently serves as the President of the East Central Society and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Dr. Witt resides in Savoy and in his free time enjoys cheering on the Fighting Illini.
Dr. Steve Leon
Dr. Steve Leon is a native of Central Illinois and grew up in Villa Grove. Dr. Leon undertook his undergraduate studies at Western Illinois University followed by Optometric college at the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Leon has been in practice for over 36 years. He is extremely active in the community of Villa Grove as the past president of the Villa Grove Chamber of Commerce and Jaycees. Dr. Leon enjoys all aspects of Optometry including working with pediatric eye care, glaucoma and ocular pathology. As a car enthusiast Dr. Leon likes to spend the time he has to do restoration work and build street rods. He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Illinois Air National Guard, 182nd Air Wing, Peoria, Illinois and has been serving for the past 20 years. He resides in Villa Grove, loves riding his Harley and can definitely hold his own on the golf course.
