Dr. Melanie Wehrman

Dr. Melanie Wehrman is a valued optometrist at Chittick Eye Care.

Dr. Wehrman got exposure to optometry at a young age. Her grandfather was an optometrist in Southern Illinois, and she decided to pursue the same career as an undergraduate at the University of Illinois. Dr. Wehrman’s studies included externships at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, and the Naval Hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina before she graduated with her Doctor in Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2001.

Dr. Wehrman enjoys caring for patients of all ages and managing eye diseases (glaucoma, macular degeneration, etc). She also has a special interest in fitting multifocal contact lenses. Dr. Wehrman is a member of Illinois and American Optometric Associations.

When she’s not working, she loves being with her husband and her two children. Golfing in the summer and skiing in the winter give her pleasure.
